Refunds

Fourteen days to change your mind, for any reason.

Last updated 2026-08-10.

The rule, in one paragraph

You have fourteen days from your purchase to cancel and get your money back, for any reason at all. You do not need to explain yourself, and it does not matter whether you have opened the book, read every page, or worked through half the course. Write to us inside those fourteen days and we refund you in full. Genuine faults are always put right, refund window or not.

1. Your 14-day right to cancel

The universe is digital content that opens the instant you pay. Even so, you keep a full fourteen-day right to cancel from the day of purchase, no reason needed. Change of mind counts. "It was not for me" counts. Ask within fourteen days and we return the full amount to the card you paid with. This is your right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the equivalent national laws across the EEA, and we honour it as written.

2. The tickbox at checkout

Before we take payment we ask you to tick a box. Buying the book:

"I am ready to start reading, and I accept the terms and refund policy."

Buying one seat on The Aspiring Bartender Course:

"I am ready to start the course, and I accept the terms and refund policy."

Buying seats for other people:

"I am buying these seats for my team, and I accept the terms and refund policy."

Whichever one you tick, it confirms you have seen this refund policy and the terms, and that you are happy to open the content straight away. It is not a waiver of your right to cancel. Your fourteen days stay yours whether you open the book on day one or never open it at all, and the same is true of a course seat.

3. Faults are always put right

Your statutory rights sit on top of the fourteen days above and never expire with them. So, at any time, we refund or fix:

4. Course seats, and buying for other people

The fourteen days work the same way for a course seat as for the book, and for the same reason: it is your money and you may change your mind. If you bought seats for other people, the fourteen days run from your purchase, not from the day each bartender opens theirs.

A refund returns the whole order and closes the whole order. Every seat in it stops, opened or not, and the codes stop working. We do not keep part of the payment for the seats that happened to be opened first.

Because the money comes back in full, the access goes back in full. A credential earned on a seat that is later refunded is withdrawn, and its verification link says so. A certificate is a statement that somebody paid for a course and passed it. If the payment is returned, the first half of that sentence is no longer true.

We say this here, plainly, so that no venue is surprised by it and no bartender hears it first from an employer. If you are a manager thinking of cancelling, tell your team before you do.

One thing we cannot undo, and will not pretend otherwise: the course reads in the browser, so a person who has already opened the pages on their own device may still have them cached there. What ends is the seat, any further examination, and the credential.

If you are buying as a business

The fourteen-day right to cancel in the EU Consumer Rights Directive is a right for consumers, and a hotel, bar or restaurant buying seats for its staff is not a consumer. We give it to you anyway, on the terms above. That makes it a promise from us rather than something the law obliges, and we will not withdraw it without changing this page first.

5. How to ask for a refund

Write to refunds@bartendercheatcode.com from the email address you paid with. Tell us:

A person reads that inbox. We reply within five business days. Refunds are processed through Paddle and land back on the same card, usually inside a week.

6. Chargebacks

If you dispute the charge with your bank without writing to us first, Paddle will handle the response on our side. We would rather solve it in one email. Try the inbox above first; it is faster and quieter, and inside fourteen days the answer is simply yes.

7. Where you can complain

You always keep your statutory consumer rights in your home country. If you live in the EU or EEA and are not happy with our answer, you can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. In Norway you can also reach out to the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet).
